In late January 2021 I underwent a laparoscopic repair for a recurrent inguinal hernia. Compared to the previous open surgery in 2016 ( by another surgeon ) my recovery has been much easier and less painful with less nerve damage. We chose Mr De'Liguori Carino after studying many Profiles and are very pleased with his capability, attitude and results. Many thanks to him, his anesthetist and team at The Highfield.

The first consultant I saw was Mr De'Liguori Carino. He provided me with a very careful explanation of the nature of the condition and treatment options. He was honest, understanding and very helpful. I then had a 6 month period of chemotherapy and radiotherapy following which I was again referred to Mr De'Ligouri Carino for possible irreversible electroporation (IRE) treatment. He saw me and very clearly carefully explained the procedure, what was known about its effectiveness, possible side effects and risks. It was a very sensitive and helpful consultation. I was admitted for the IRE treatment which was conducted so as to also permit other surgical procedures to take place if, on investigation, these were appropriate. In my case he was consequently able to perform a successful removal of a bile duct/pancreatic tumour. I was very, very fortunate to have been treated by Mr De’Ligouri Carino and to have received such high quality care from him. Even at the end of what must have been an exhausting day’s surgery (mine alone must have consumed several hours) he telephoned my family late in the evening to update them in detail on the outcome. We were all very grateful for his generosity with his time in doing this. Thank you very much for such excellent care and treatment.

Following a recommendation I contacted Mr. De'Liguori Carino who then carried out a 'keyhole' surgery repair on my hernia. I found him to be very pleasant, informative and professional. He certainly put me at my ease. I was very pleasantly surprised with the low level of pain after the operation and how quickly I felt 'back to normal' without the need for painkillers. Earlier this december I returned for further surgery for another hernia, but of course in a different place. This operation needed to be an open repair. For this, recovery time was a little longer, but again quicker than I had expected. I was discharged 12 days after the operation. I can only find positives about my experiences whilst in Mr. De' Liguori Carino's care, so have no hesitation in giving him my full recommendation. He spoke to me of his work in other areas, particularly cancer. It became abundantly clear that he is dedicated to both his work and the well being of his patients. He has clearly earned my greatest respect.
